Protection of homepage Edit

Protection of this home page is IMHO overkill for a page that has encountered no vandalism so far is unlikely to get any in the near future. At most I would make it semi-protected. If it stays fully protected could you please give me and Devon the privileges we need to edit it? See also Wikia cautioning against over-protection. WSchudy 19:17, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

I am granting you and Devon admin rights. I know of many wikis, however, who have had their main page vandalized because no one bothers to protect them. If you think we can do with semi-protect for now, go ahead, but please keep at least that on. HectorAE 18:27, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the admin rights. OK let's try semi-protect. I changed the front page to be semi-protected for edit and fully protected against moves. Feel free to fully protect it some time in the future if desirable. WSchudy 19:04, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

Add quick links section? Edit

Could we add a quick links section to the bottom of this page? I'm thinking of a section containing nothing but a column of hyperlinks to the different category pages such as for documentation, sides, tournaments, and downloads. This would make the home page easier/faster to navigate for those who don't want to read the introductory paragraphs, and is consistent with the layout of other wikis I've been on. I've also wanted that, so just now I added the beginnings of one. WSchudy 02:22, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, looks good. El3l 02:55, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

We need a link to the Homepage on the Main Menu... it's not immediately obvious that you can click on the logo.

Seriously? Anyone who has ever used a wiki knows to click the logo... HectorAE 01:36, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

A little text under the icon saying "click for home" or something like that may improve usability, but as Hector says clicking on logos to go home is pretty traditional so this only seems worth doing if it's easy. WSchudy 21:21, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

It does make sense to make a home button because at mobile version i have to start each time from a old site because there is very inconvinient menu at wikia, that takes a minute to load after the rest of page is loaded, evn with relatively good internet. Such menu usually called breadcrumbles, that shows where you are on a site, it looks something like this: Grobots - documentation - tutorials - tutorial_name. as in a old sourceforge website, where it was very convinient and much faster to use.Caplica (talk) 10:45, April 21, 2016 (UTC) caplica
